TYPHOON ONDOY
September 26, 2009 was a day that I would not forget. Back then, I was just 7 years old. During that day, we were at Miriam College Grade School to celebrate my sister's family day at the 2nd floor cafe. When we arrived at MC, it was just a cloudy day. During the performance of each sections, the rain started to pour so hard and it was so strong to the point that we couldn't hear the music of the student's who were performing. My mom started to worry so after my sister presented we planned to leave MC. When we went down from the 2nd floor cafe, we didn't expect that it was already super flooded and the MMJ looked like a very big Olympic swimming pool. Me, my sister, and my brother waited for my mom while she got the car. My mom actually nearly slipped because of the strong current of the flood but luckily there was a janitor who helped her. All of us were wet because we didn't expect that it would rain so hard and we did not have tissue to wipe ourselves. Since it was so traffic, we had to stop over at petron. We were stranded there for around 5 hours and we were all tired, wet, and cold. At around 4pm, we left Petron since the traffic congestion lessened and the rain weakened. It took us another 1-2 hours to get home and finally at around 6pm we were able to go home. |
